Gyozas – but vegan

gyozas – vegan with black sesame

[i have had my first gyozas in New york. I show you amazing vegan gyozas.]

40 Gyoza dough sheets
(sesame) oil for frying
Water
black sesame seeds

chinese cabbage
carrots
a small onion
2 gloves of garlic
a bunch of spring onions
a thumb sized piece of ginger
soy sauce

chilli oil
hoisin sauce
wasabi paste
mayonnaise

chop the vegatables. Add soy sauce. Fry them in sesame oil.

Put a tablespoon of filling in the middle of the dough sheet. Use water to stick the halves together. Fold the rim to avoid air inside.

Sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Fry the gyozas in sesame oil.

Add water carefully. Close the lid and steam in low heat. They are ready, when they turn slightly transparent. This should take about two minutes.

Chilli oil and hoisin sauce fit with gyozas. You can also mix mayonnaise with wasabi.
